Lewis Business Media has announced the appointment of a new editorial team to drive forward its market leading title, Agronomist & Arable Farmer (AAF).
Alistair Driver takes the role of Group Editor and will be responsible for developing the strategic direction and content planning. Alistair will continue to be responsible for Farm Business & Pig World.
John Swire has been appointed as Deputy Editor and will be responsible for the day to day management of the title including commissioning freelance contributors and liaison with agencies and technical experts.
AAF Publisher, Simon Lewis said: “I am delighted we have been able to secure the services of this editorial team and strongly believe Alistair and John have the complimentary skill sets required to enable the title to flourish.
“Under Alistair’s editorship, Pig World has gone from strength to strength, with incisive analysis of the important issues of the day, while retaining the publication’s reputation for strong technical content. His ability, combined with John’s knowledge and experience of the agronomy and arable sectors, and record of writing on the subject, means we have a very well balanced team.”
Alistair is the former Political Editor of Farmers Guardian and joined Lewis Business Media in August 2016 as editor of Pig World.
He said: “I am very much looking forward to working with John to produce an analytical and informative magazine for agronomists and arable farmers.”
The first 15 years of John’s working life was on a dairy and arable farm in Shropshire. He moved into the world of PR in 1990 and has never looked back, acting for a number of high profile companies in the agricultural sector.
Since 2015 he has been a regular contributor to a number of farming journals including Farm Business, Agronomist & Arable Farmer, Farm Contractor & Large Scale Farmer. He has always specialised in writing about the Agronomy and Arable sectors and is well connected in those markets.
Simon Lewis added that Lewis Business Media were grateful for the work Chris Lyddon had done in his role at editor and said that the whole company wished him well in his future endeavours.
