ADM Agriculture has named Jonathan Lane, current head of grain trading, as its new managing director. Having joined ADM in 2006 as an export grain trader, he has held various positions in the trading and commercial fields, including working at ADM Erith as a merchandiser.
A graduate of Harper Adams with a BSc (Hons) in Agri-Food Marketing and Business, Mr Lane is now studying for a masters in Strategic Management and Leadership. He said: “I am very excited by the new challenge, and I feel privileged to work alongside such a fantastic team as we drive ADM’s UK origination and direct marketing business forward.”
Gary McGuigan, president of ADM global trade, said: “Jonathan has a wealth of experience and has been a key figure in the development of ADM Agriculture’s grain trading business. I am delighted that he now has the opportunity to lead ADM Agriculture in its entirety and I am confident he will build on the company’s very successful first few years.”
Mr Lane succeeds Graham Atkinson who is retiring from the role, Mr McGuigan said: “I have not come across a better ‘people’ person in our industry, whether leading teams or engaging with customers. Graham was instrumental in the success of ADM’s destination marketing business globally and I thank him for his exceptional contribution.”
