Origin Fertilisers has recruited two nutrition agronomists to add strength and practical knowledge to its existing team providing soil and crop nutrition advice to farmers and growers across the country.
Toby Ward and Ben Jordan have joined Origin from practical farming and farm management roles, so fully appreciate the issues facing farmers now and in the coming years.
Mr Ward is based in Suffolk and will work across East Anglia and the south-east, while Mr Jordan’s area includes Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire, and the Midlands. Both new recruits are currently undertaking their FACTS qualifications.
Valuable knowledge
Peter Scott, technical director at Origin Fertilisers, said the new additions will offer valuable farming knowledge that will be a great benefit to them when advising farmers.
“Origin Fertilisers is delighted to welcome Toby and Ben to our expanding national team of nutrition agronomists. They both have extensive practical and farm management experience and a deep understanding of agriculture.
“As nutrition agronomists, they can provide professional advice to farmers and growers on ways to optimise soil health and nutrient use efficiency through Origin’s prescription nutrition service.”
Mr Scott went on to say that the role a nutrition agronomist plays within a farming operation is integral to improving long-term soil and crop health.
“Improving soil health and nutrient efficiency are key objectives of the Sustainable Farming Incentive and essential in optimising a return on investment. The advice from a nutrition agronomist will play a pivotal role in navigating the changes within agriculture over the coming years,” he concludes.
